The music was constructed by what the composers knew. It was described as being uncomplicated and extremely clear melodies, often supported by chords. This new style of music was composed for the entertainment of the royal patrons and their courtiers. It was held together by a balance of quick changing dynamics and emotional feel to the pieces. It had a much lighter feeling to the movements, not as harsh and upbeat, but mellow and soothing. Haydn's L'infedelta delusa impressed many with it's lively story. It was brought together by the voices of soprano, bass and tenor.
